Due to technical issues, yesterday's EA-Land Giveaway Contest party wasn't able to get posted until today! Pictures will be made available as soon as someone unscrambles my computer!! The party was held at Toy-Shop of Horrors, owned by Miss Tattoo'! A really fun team game was set up very much like the board game of Sorry. Those who played took turns bumping or jumping each other off the playing "board" and had a great time!!

Today's stop for the EA-Land Giveaway Contest was Jam Packed, owned by Buckstar Starbuck! Everyone had a blast with a trivia contest run by Buckstar, and the Jam stations were packed while people enjoyed the party!
There was plenty to do for everyone, and the party continued by the campfire with Parizad.

Join us on Wednesday for two more house parties to celebrate this amazing game!

Here's where Parizad will be found : 3:00pm PDT / 6:00pm EDT - The Love Castle, owned by Harvey van Parker! 3:30pm PDT / 6:30pm EDT - Club Alphaville, owned by Erik!

Hope to see you there!

There is something about getting a game that is half finished, or designed to be used in a manner which it's not prepared for at launch, that just sucks the fun right out of playing. So imagine my dismay when I read all of the current hype surrounding modding, and player add ons to MMOs that are designed with a level playing field out the gate.

I realize many of you disagree with this thinking, but hear me out first.

The modding community was first heavily embraced in an MMO by Blizzard with their incredibly popular World of Warcraft, but the move has since caused changes in the very design of the game.

So in our second day of house-hopping, we had some good times! If you missed joining us, check out the highlights!

It all started at the Gingerbread House, where Juana provided us with a fantastic little maze to work through (inluding a booty-scoot!) and a warm and classy surrounding. Much of her decor was custom content, and very pleasing to the eye. She made sure everyone was right at home and enjoying a bit of relaxation while we chatted the time away.

While the name reminds me of Hansel and Gretel, our hostess was nothing like the little old witch! Everyone had a great time, and nobody took a bite out of the Gingerbread House!

On May 13th Allakhazam posted an interview conducted with Thom Terrazas, a Producer on the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes team. In this interview Thom discussed the changes that have been made to the performance of Vanguard. He stated that the changes to the game’s optimization are night and day compared to the launch product, going so far as to say “I’ll even flag your account for free for a period of time if you want to go in and prove me wrong.” I decided that I’d take Thom up on this offer.

My first task was to contact SOE to see if indeed this claim would be backed up. I submitted a ticket to customer service, citing the article on Allakhazam and what Mr. Terrazas had said. Within a few hours I received an update to my ticket saying that customer service would indeed honor Thom’s word and grant me a 3 day flag to play the game again. After a quick email back confirming my Station account info I was granted my access.

Mythos - A veteran MMO player's view

Drawing on many diverse aspects of the different games on the market, Mythos provides a fun alternative to the standard "level grind" commonly found in most MMOs out there. It's fun, absorbing and has a fairly easy learning curve where game mechanics are concerned. The game uses the "personal instance" method from Guild Wars, where a player has a map to a specific area that is theirs alone and there are travel "hubs" that are social areas. In these hubs, players can set up groups and interact with NPCs, gain quests and use a bank system.

Leaving the hubs will take the player to instanced areas. These areas have a small "zone" that leads to the specific dungeon and each dungeon is detailed on the character map so there is no "wandering around lost", which happens so frequently in other games. Arriving at the dungeon "zone", you will find a merchant and a guide next to the zone in location so you can sell off any loot you may have and purchase mana and health potions, recall charms (used in the dungeon, they are a temporary "gate" so you can leave, sell and return to the same place in the dungeon) and some magic items.
